Susan Bentsen, MA, APC, NCC**

Susan Bentsen is an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) who is pursuing licensure. She graduated from Richmont Graduate University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Susan interned at Peachford Behavioral Health and has experience working with individuals and groups of all ages. Her scope of work includes helping individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship stress, addiction, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and personality disorders.

 

Susan is devoted to helping clients discover and examine thinking patterns, core beliefs, and emotions that impact their view of self, others and the world.  In a warm and supportive space, she has worked collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals to identify personal strengths that empower a client to live life well.  Along with knowledge and understanding of the roots of difficult issues, she uses an integrative approach that incorporates cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and aspects of psychodynamic therapy.
