Hi there. I'm Leigh (She/Her). Some stories are so difficult to share. They often cause feelings of anxiety, stress, depression, confusion, and anger. These emotions can lead us to engage in behaviors that may not be helpful or even could even be harmful as we try to cope. I am passionate about hearing people's stories and guiding them through the challenging but rewarding process of finding their way forward. No matter where you are in your journey, you are welcome and will be affirmed here just the way you are.
I work with a diverse range of adults, including those from the LGBTQI+ community, couples, families, and people facing issues like addiction, trauma, spiritual struggles, grief, and mood disorders. My approach is trauma-informed and incorporates attachment-based, systemic, and person-centered frameworks, as well as somatic and narrative techniques.
I am WPATH SOC-8 trained and working toward full certification. I work with transgender adults and being trans is so much more than just sexuality and gender issues. My goal when working with you is to help you identify the stress so that we can build skills to help you overcome the barriers you are currently stuck behind. Just like with all other clients, including other LGBTQIA+ clients, I bring a social justice mindset and sensitivity to marginalized experiences so that you can feel safe and completely affirmed in who you are in the counseling space.
